Winnie Kamminga, 95, of Crescent, IA, died Feb 15, 2021. She helped her husband, Arnold, who died in 1986 race and raise Standardbreds. She encouraged her daughter, CHHA member, Wilda McDanel, after her father’s death to never give up. Winnie loved horses. She raised an orphan foal, Crescent Red, once on cookies and Rice Krispies . He later raced. When he retired she gave him a forever home until his death at 30 years old. At 95, she still enjoyed reading the CHHA newsletter word for word. She loved her Lord and couldn’t wait to meet Jesus. She is currently survived by her five daughters. Winnie was a CHHA member.
